The 45 rhyme files are written in ASCI format and may be edited with the NotePad program.
These files are all in the same directory as your Rhyme Finder program and are named with the vowel sound plus an extension indicating the ryhme type (single, double or triple), ie/ A.1, Ah.2, At.3, etc.
You might wish to edit one or more of these files to either correct a spelling error, or to add new rhymes.
If you do so it is recommended that you:
- Make a back up, so that if you mess up a rhyme file you can copy the backup to your Rhyme Finder directory to get back to normal.
- Use the following conventions:
- Limit each line to 78 characters and spaces
(If not, the word wrap may give odd results.)
- Use the same group headers, ie/ -DA
(If not, it will be difficult to find groups)
- Limit the file length. All systems may not be
able to handle more than 32,000 bytes/file.
- DO NOT DELETE OR RENAME A RHYME FILE.
- DO NOT USE A WORD PROCESSOR WHICH USUALLY ADDS
SPECIAL FORMAT INSTRUCTIONS TO THE FILE WHICH
WOULD APPEAR AS GARBLED DATA WHEN SUBSEQUENTLY
SHOWN BY THE RHYME FINDER PROGRAM.
TO BE SAFE, USE YOUR WINDOWS NOTEPAD PROGRAM.
The help files that you are now reading are also separate files in the same directory, named with abbreviated titles such as Intro.txt, Changes.txt, etc.
You may also change these files if you wish to add additional notes or reminders.
However, DO NOT DELETE A FILE OR CHANGE ITS NAME. So doing will create a program fault when the file is called.
